Audition Guideline
At audition we ask you to perform two contrasting pieces about 3 minutes in length, prepared in advance. One should be Shakespeare and the other from a modern playwright (post 1950). You will be asked to take part in a workshop session with members of the present company and other audition candidates. You will be asked to sight read a piece of text and sing an unaccompanied song of your own choosing. A simple folk song or nursery rhyme will do very well.
Please note our audition days usually last until late afternoon.
‘…the audition at Cygnet Training Theatre was one of the best ones I attended. I felt constantly challenged, but encouraged at the same time and I had a lot of fun during the audition day. The feedback you sent concerning my initial audition was also extremely helpful, so thank you…’
